    Camellia is a symmetric key block cipher. It was developed in Japan by Mitsubishi and NTT companies in 2000. It was later approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the European Union’s NESSIE (New European Schemes for Signatures, Integrity and Encryption) project and the Japanese CRYPTREC (Cryptography Research and Evaluation Committees) project.
