Sustainable packaging trends, next-level packaging automation, packaging equipment on steroids: The best of Day 2 at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2021.
The second day of Pack Expo Las Vegas was highlighted by several cool technologies and a great atmosphere, and these are the ones that I want to share.
PAPER IS THE NEW PLASTIC: Sustainable Packaging Trends
With increasing consumer awareness of the environmental impact of plastic packaging, the demand for sustainable packaging has also grown. Thanks to the “less plastic, more paper” rising trend in the packaging industry. A great example I’ve seen at Pack Expo is the KeelClip™ technology by Graphic Packaging which uses a unique paperboard design to replace plastic rings, top clips, and shrink wrap multipacks for multipack cans.
PACKAGING AUTOMATION: To a next level
Another highlight of this second day at Pack Expo was the booth of Premier Tech. Their complete packaging line illustrates the increasing demand for automating high-mix-low-volume (HMLV) production, with greater efficiency.
PACKAGING EQUIPMENT ON STEROIDS
Finally, seeing the crowds gathered around these, I’d say that the high-speed packaging equipment stole the show. Attendees were mesmerized by some of the innovations showcased.
