Three new Machinechat Kits are now available from SparkFun Electronics! Also, be sure to pick up your limited edition Constellation Kit while supplies last!
Hello there! Welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, you are getting a closer look at two of the larger projects that we’ve been working on and it all starts with our new partnership with Machinechat. We lead off the week with three OpenLog Data Collector with Machinechat kits, the Base, Environmental Monitoring, and Air Quality Monitoring. Each other this kits feature our OpenLog Artemis, a unique JEDI One license and (depending on the kit) a set of different accessories. Following that, we are excited to show off the new MicroMod Constellation Kit for a second time. Don’t worry, you can still get one of three MicroMod Processors for free with purchase of this kit! We wrap up the week with license cards for both JEDI One and JEDI Pro! Now, let’s jump in and take a closer look at all of this week’s new products.
The Base version of the SparkFun OpenLog Data Collector Kit with Machinechat is an easy way to organize and display your data with the OpenLog Artemis and JEDI One. The SparkFun OpenLog Artemis (without IMU) is an open source data logger that comes preprogrammed to automatically log GPS / GNSS, serial data, and various pressure, humidity, and distance data as well as the ability to expand out to any number of our Qwiic sensors. This makes it ideal for data collection, and to display that data, Machinechat’s JEDI One will be your best friend!
The Environmental Monitoring version of the SparkFun OpenLog Data Collector Kit with Machinechat is another easy way to organize and display your data from an included BME280 Qwiic Atmospheric Sensor with the OpenLog Artemis and JEDI One. The SparkFun BME280 Atmospheric Sensor Breakout is an easy way to measure barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature readings, and thanks to this kit, you’ll be able to get up and running in minutes.
The Air Quality Monitoring version of the SparkFun OpenLog Data Collector Kit with Machinechat is a third easy way to organize and display your data, but this time from an included SGP40 Qwiic Air Quality Sensor and with the OpenLog Artemis and JEDI One. The SGP40 is based on Sensirion’s CMOSens technology and uses a metal oxide sensor with a temperature-controlled micro hotplate and provides a humidity-compensated VOC-based indoor air quality signal.
Our latest Limited Edition Kit is for anyone with a love of space!
The SparkFun Constellation MicroMod Kit is our newest limited edition offering that joins the ranks of the SkeleBoard and the SnowBoard. Instead of releasing a single board this year, we have opted to release a full kit, instead! This kit combines both MicroMod and Qwiic in a single box with a limited edition MicroMod ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar (this year’s April Fool’s Day joke). No, we aren’t joking this time! Due to popular demand, we have reworked the MultiStar into a working (and much safer) celestial version of the MultiPort. Also included in this kit is a MicroMod Screw Driver and two Qwiic Cables to get you hooked up! The ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar included in this kit feature a matte black PCB with a star scape design in white silk.

Machinechat® JEDI is a turnkey software application that allows you to easily add data collection, visualization, monitoring and managed storage to commercial IoT deployments. Because JEDI runs as a local service on server or single board computer, there is no need for sending all your data to the cloud and there are no monthly subscription fees.
JEDI One lets you build IoT projects quickly and easily. Add intuitive data dashboards, powerful rule-based data monitoring and instant alerts to any IoT project. There is no need to send all your data to the cloud and no recurring monthly fees to pay.
Meanwhile, JEDI Pro is designed to become an integral part of your IoT solution. With a footprint of less than 35 megabytes and features that rival popular IoT cloud platforms, JEDI Pro runs entirely on your ARM-based embedded hardware or X86-based computers. You are in control of your data, solution, and costs.
That’s it for this week. As always, we can’t wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we’ll see you next week with even more new products!
